I was given the hamilton Beach Stay or Go Slow Cooker as a wedding gift over five years ago, and it has been a mainstay in my kitchen ever since! This unit is super simple. No bells or whistles (i.e. timer settings), just high, low, warm, and off. Believe it or not, this is something that I love about this model of slow cooker. Not being constricted by a timer setting gives me the ability to slow cook bone broth for twenty-four hours or more in a stretch, and ensures that I don’t have a soup sitting in the crock, cooling and growing bacteria if I’m away from the house longer than I expected to be.

Another feature which I love about this slow cooker is the locking lid with it’s rubber gasket. I use my slow cooker a lot to transport food to our weekly church potlucks, and this tight-fitting gasket lid has saved us from a lot of spills during sudden stops or turns.

One possible drawback to this slow cooker is that I feel like the low temperature setting takes a very long time to reach it’s full heat. I’m not sure if this is a flaw in my particular unit, or in the units in general, or if perhaps it’s just my imagination. But in any case, I usually start all of my dishes off on high heat for at least thirty minutes before turning them down to low. It’s an easy enough quirk to overcome.

Over the five and a half years I’ve had it, my slow cooker has been banged around in trunks and even pick-up beds - a hard life for any slow cooker - and had the outer shell has been dented, but I’m happy to say that the wiring and heating element have remained reliable.

As you can see, I highly recommend the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go Slow Cooker! My one and only complaint is that the casing has begun to rust recently, but as I’ve had the cooker for almost six years, and have used it extensively - sometimes every day for two weeks or more at a time, and I live in a high-humidity area, I really can’t complain about that.

All in all, would give the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go slow cooker a four out of five start rating.
