There’s really no beating around the bush when it comes to talking about why we love these ramekins. It’s simple: they are the cutest things to ever exist literally ever. Sure, they’re also super functional for baking individual custards, cakes, bread puddings, and pies in addition to storing spices, herbs, and other smaller miscellaneous kitchen things, but mostly: they are so cute.

We keep a few around the kitchen to store our salt and pepper and crushed red pepper all neatly stacked atop one another. We’ll also use these ramekins to make just a couple of servings of baked macaroni and cheese or baked grits when we’re feeling extra Southern. The interior coating is basically non-stick, so there’s not a huge problem with food getting stuck to the sides or crusty food residue that is impossible to clean off.

When we don’t feel like turning on the oven or just want to have extra fancy serving bowls, we’ll use them as pictured here for serving ice cream such as this thyme custard ice cream, and smaller servings of soups, stews, or as a holder for sauce. At just about 3 ½ inches in diameter, they’re the perfect size for a small serving for when you are watching your portion size or just aren’t hungry for a large meal.

There are really no rules when it comes to what you can and can’t use these guys for, as they’re pretty much meant to be multifunctional while also elevating the appearance of your kitchen. In addition to being versatile as heck, they’re safe for the microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher, making cleanup (our least favorite part) even easier. They’re also incredibly sturdy and don’t seem to break or chip very easily at all. Honestly, we’re pretty reckless and would’ve absolutely broken a couple of these by now if they were at all fragile. So that about sums up why we love these guys. Oh and did we mention that we think they are the cutest things ever?
